Promotion of self-protection plans against floods in local entities.
The drafting of self-protection plans against floods aims to reduce their impact in the selected municipalities. In its development and aplication the implication of local governments and citizens is required.
At the same time, certain informatic tools can facilitate the running of a flood episode to local governments: indicating the steps to follow depending on the emergency level, and sending alert messages to citizens so that they know the state of the emergency and improve their self-protection.
LIFE-IP NAdapta-CC has offered these plans and tools to several town counclis according to a priorization of the risk of flood (higher risk inside ASPFR (Area with Significant Potential Flood Risk) stretches). It has collaborated with those municipalities that have accepted them (plan, tools or both), and in particular: in the drafting of 16 of these plans and the creation of 15 informatic tools, of municipal property. Their updating and maintenance are the responsibility of each town council.
